SEANERGY GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN GENOA (ITALY)

Seanergy Project - 3rd. Assembly in Genoa

SEANERGY 3rd Project Meeting took place in Genoa (Italy) on November 16-17, 2023. The meeting gathered all 12 European project partners devoted to successfully transform ports into clean energy hubs.

During this event, the partners reflected on the achievements of the past 13 months and planned an inspiring path forward for the upcoming months.

With WP1 and WP2 close from concluded, the partners opened the door to WP3, devoted to the creation of the SEANERGY Master Plan.

WP3 will take information obtained from the previous two work packages to construct a suitable Master Plan that will be able to set the consortium’s and external stakeholders’ goals and objectives during and after the project, by providing all the necessary tools and content that will aid them to choose the right path towards a greener energy & fuel operation in port.

DANUBE COMMISSION AND THE SEANERGY PROJECT CONSORTIUM ORGANIZED THE DANUBE REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON ENERGY TRANSITION IN INLAND PORTS

Seanergy - Danube Regional Workshop

On September 21st 2023, the DC Secretariat/Expert Group on Ports, Port of Ennshafen and Circletouch organized the Danube Regional Workshop on Energy Transition in Inland Ports in the framework of the EU HORIZON Europe project “SEANERGY”. The workshop took place in an online format and involved more than 40 participants, mostly from administrations of the Danube ports and members of the SEANERGY project consortium, including representatives of DG Move, project team representatives, and port associations.

MARPOL AT 50 – OUR COMMITMENT GOES ON: MARITIME DECARBONISATION

On August 30th and 31st 2023, the World Maritime University (WMU) organized MARPOL at 50, a two-days international seminar on the role of green technologies and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation. The event brought together 58 participants on site and 12 online, with the central support of the EU Horizon Europe funded project SEAENERGY.

REGIONAL WORKSHOP – EAST MED

DAFNI East Med Workshop

DAFNI organized the East Med Regional workshop on Thursday 23 November 2023, in a hybrid mode, onsite in Athens, Greece and online via zoom meetings. The main language of the event was Greek, but a translator service was employed in order to provide live translation to the non-greek audience who attended online.

International seminar on the role of green technologies and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation

On August 30 and 31, the World Maritime University (WMU) carried out a two-days international seminar on the role of green technologies and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation. During the two days of the seminar, we discussed green technologies and ways of promoting global collaboration and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation.

Why is the catalogue of energy transition technologies for ports essential for the SEANERGY Project?

Even though currently there are no concrete obligations set in place to scale down maritime transport emissions, reducing them is part of the EU economy-wide reduction commitment under the Paris Agreement, and it also plays a role in the EU’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
