On November 4, 2024, ATPERSON, a dedicated partner of the SEANERGY project, hosted a virtual event aimed at engaging Spanish universities and raising awareness of the critical need for clean energy solutions in port environments. The event introduced the SEANERGY Academic Programme and the SEANERGY Challenge, both integral to inspiring and empowering a new generation of professionals who will lead the transition towards zero-emission ports by 2050.

The session included direct participation from postgraduate students studying at several esteemed Spanish institutions:

  • Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – Barcelona Tech
  • Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena
  • Universidad de Murcia
  • Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
Seanergy - Future Leaders in Port Energy

These students explored the SEANERGY project’s main achievements and its Master Plan’s vision for cleaner, sustainable port ecosystems that can act as clean energy hubs and testbeds for the circular economy.

Despite a modest turnout, the interest in the SEANERGY Challenge was promising. The SEANERGY Challenge invites students to bring innovative ideas to port energy management and circular economy practices, with a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world sustainable change in maritime environments. Registrations for the SEANERGY Challenge remain open until November 15, 2024.

This event underscored SEANERGY’s commitment to fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration with academic institutions, building a pathway for young talent to lead the clean energy transition in maritime sectors.
