Are you a manager in the port, logistics, or energy sectors looking to deepen your knowledge of port energy transition? The SEANERGY Summer School, hosted by the Italian Shipping Academy Foundation (FAIMM) in collaboration the SEANERGY Project, is taking place from September 23 to 30, 2024, in the coastal town of Arenzano, just 30 km from Genoa.

The SEANERGY Summer School is a focused program designed for professionals in the port, logistics, and energy sectors. It offers a blend of classroom learning, practical workshops, site visits, and presentations, all aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of port energy transition.

Agenda

Day 1 – Sunday, September 22

Arrival and check-in at the hotel in Arenzano.

Day 2 – Monday, September 23

Morning:

  • Presentation of the Italian Shipping Academy Foundation (FAIMM)
  • Presentation on SEANERGY & Summer School
  • Ports stakeholders and port barriers in energy transition
  • SEANERGY Master Plan

Afternoon:

  • Launch of the Academy Programme and overview of the 11 modules

Evening:

  • Eno-gastronomic evening

Day 3 – Tuesday, September 24

Morning:

  • Ports systematic energy transition: Ports of the Future, Energy Auditing, and EU strategy
  • ESG Assessment of Energy and Fuels on Ports by WMU

Afternoon:

  • Energy transition technological catalogue
  • Life cycle assessment in ports
  • Gender equality and women roles in European ports

Day 4 – Wednesday, September 25

All Day:

  • Visit to Genoa: Port Authority, Port Terminals, and Accademia (LNG simulator)

Evening:

  • Drink on the beach

Day 5 – Thursday, September 26

Morning:

  • Shipping decarbonization
  • IMO GHG strategy towards 2050

Afternoon:

  • Zero-emission ship

Day 6 – Friday, September 27

Morning:

  • Port decarbonization and zero-emission concept
  • Offshore wind energy production and the roles of the ports

Afternoon:

  • Hydrogen projects in ports (ANLEG)
  • Recap and concluding the course

Evening:

  • Cocktail reception with key shipping and ports experts

Costs

The course is free to attend. Participants are responsible for their own travel and subsistence costs.
