On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Fundación Valenciaport had the opportunity to present the SEANERGY project during the “Innovation Initiatives for Decarbonising the Mediterranean” event held at the Valencia Terminal Hub. This important gathering brought together key stakeholders from the maritime and port industry to discuss innovative solutions for the decarbonization of the Mediterranean region.

The morning sessions provided an overview of various regional projects aimed at supporting the transition towards greener maritime operations.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the SEANERGY project, a flagship initiative designed to facilitate the transition of ports towards zero-emission operations. Fundación Valenciaport introduced the SEANERGY Master Plan, which provides a comprehensive roadmap for decarbonizing port activities, alongside the SEANERGY Catalogue of Technologies, which showcases cutting-edge innovations to support sustainable energy integration in ports.

During the parallel activities, attendees had the opportunity to either participate in a visit to the Port of Valencia or join the SEANERGY Workshop, conducted in Spanish. This workshop marked a significant milestone as the project nears completion, offering an in-depth exploration of its results, including the SEANERGY Handbook. This handbook is designed as a practical guide for port organizations, providing training resources to facilitate their energy transition strategies.

The event concluded with a strong message: achieving zero-emission ports and sustainable maritime operations in the Mediterranean is a collective effort requiring the collaboration of industry stakeholders, policymakers, and technological innovators. The SEANERGY project’s Master Plan and Catalogue of Technologies serve as essential resources in this journey, providing actionable solutions to support ports in their energy transition.
