On December 12th, the Port Authority of Valencia hosted the Ecoport biannual meeting, gathering around 20 stakeholders from various organizations within the Port of Valencia community. The meeting provided an opportunity to share updates and insights into ongoing projects aimed at fostering sustainability in the maritime sector.

During the session, significant advancements in the SEANERGY project were presented, focusing on two major deliverables: the Master Plan for Port Energy Transition and the Catalogue of Technologies for Maritime Decarbonization. These initiatives are central to SEANERGY’s vision of transforming ports into clean energy hubs and leaders in sustainability.

The Master Plan lays out a comprehensive strategy for transitioning ports toward zero-emission operations. By integrating renewable energy systems, hydrogen-based solutions, and low-carbon technologies, the plan is designed to guide ports like Valencia in becoming models of sustainability and innovation.

Complementing this effort, the Catalogue of Technologies showcases practical tools and innovations aimed at reducing maritime carbon emissions. From electrifying port equipment to adopting waste-to-energy systems, the catalogue serves as a resource for stakeholders looking to implement sustainable solutions.

The meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration among port authorities, shipping companies, technology providers, and academic institutions. Attendees discussed opportunities for partnership and shared insights into the challenges and opportunities of maritime decarbonization.
