ECO Imagination proudly took part in two impactful workshops during the Sustainable Workshop Series held on July 15 and July 16. These workshops, aimed at fostering knowledge and action towards a more sustainable future, provided a platform for discussing critical issues and innovative solutions in the realm of sustainability.

Day 1: Renewable Solutions

On July 15, the first workshop centered around “Renewable Solutions.” This session delved into various forms of renewable energy, including solar, wind, and hydro power. Participants explored the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and discussed strategies for integrating these solutions into everyday life and business operations. ECO Imagination’s experts contributed to the conversation by sharing insights on how ports can transition to sustainable processes.

ECO Imagination presented the SEANERGY Project, showcasing its efforts in integrating renewable energy and sustainable practices in marine environments. The discussions emphasized the importance of policy support, community engagement, and technological innovation in driving the shift towards a more sustainable energy future.

Day 2: Sustainable Innovation for a Greener Future

The second workshop, held on July 16, focused on “Sustainable Innovation for a Greener Future.” This session brought together thought leaders, innovators, and sustainability advocates to discuss forward-thinking solutions for the challenges of tomorrow. Topics included sustainable product design, green technology advancements, and innovative approaches to reducing environmental impact across various industries. ECO Imagination again presented the SEANERGY Project, highlighting its ongoing projects and future plans aimed at promoting sustainable innovation. The SEANERGY Project provided valuable insights into the integration of renewable energy and sustainable practices in marine environments.

International seminar on the role of green technologies and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation

On August 30 and 31, the World Maritime University (WMU) carried out a two-days international seminar on the role of green technologies and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation. During the two days of the seminar, we discussed green technologies and ways of promoting global collaboration and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation.

Why is the catalogue of energy transition technologies for ports essential for the SEANERGY Project?

Even though currently there are no concrete obligations set in place to scale down maritime transport emissions, reducing them is part of the EU economy-wide reduction commitment under the Paris Agreement, and it also plays a role in the EU’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
